Event Highlights The Macau Art of Competitive Ballroom dancing has once again reached another year of success and completed in an astonishing 2011 Asian Open Dance Sports Championships. The 2011 Asian Open Dance Tour – Macau International Open Dance Sports Championships was recently held at The Venetian Macao® Grand Ballroom on the 5th March 2011 and was proudly presented by the Macau International Professional Ballroom Dancing Association. This year, we have achieved over 300 couples from worldwide to compete and perform in great audiences in this global international event. May we express our sincere thank you to the World Dance Council - President Donnie Burns MBE and Asian Dance Council - President Isao Nakagawa in appointing us with the opportunity for the third year of the Asian Open Dance competition, to host such a significant event of the year. The competition commenced from 8am throughout the day, where the Grand Dinner party with over 100 dining tables concluded the night with the Semi-Final and Finals for the highlights of the evening. Thank you to Starlight Dance Centre Hong Kong & Macau for highlighting the competition with a show dance performance by their young members performing the “Thank You Disney”. It is our pleasure to invite Mr. Massimo Giorgianni of “Dance as Fire”, to choreograph such a great show dance. The Champion of Macau Open Professional Standard: Arunas Bizokas and Katusha Demidova (USA) and the Champion of Macau Open Professional Latin: Riccardo Cocchi and Yulia Zagoruychenko (USA). The Champion of Asian Closed Professional Standard: Alex Hou and Melody Hou (Taiwan) and the Champion of Asian Closed Professional Latin: Ning Lu & Ding Fang Zhang (China). The Champion of Amateur Open Standard: Andrea Ghigiarelli & Sara Andracchio (UK), and the Champion of Amateur Open Latin: Neil Jones & Ekaterina Sokolova (UK). We would like to congratulate all our champions for their great accomplishments; they have absolutely indulged the evening with their passionate and enthusiastic performances. Thanks to all our competitors for their participation in Macau International Open Dance Sport Championships. We give our special thanks to the Macao SAR Government for their support and encouragement for the local development of Arts and Sports Culture. The evening would not have been completed without all our great judges, audiences, supporters, our guests, our kind sponsors who made their special part to achieve our 2011 Macau Open Dance Sport Championships. |
